About

Hi! I’m Rahman, a PhD candidate and Research Associate at the Department of Medical Statistics at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (CAIMed). Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Björn-Hergen Laabs, I work on advancing statistical methods and trustworthy machine learning in healthcare.

Before starting my PhD, I completed my M.Sc. in Mathematics at the University of Padova (Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita”), where I explored the theoretical foundations of modern learning algorithms. I did my master thesis as an Erasmus researcher with the Chair for Machine Learning at Ruhr University Bochum.

My academic journey began at the University of Guilan in Iran, where I obtained both my B.Sc. in Mathematics and Its Applications and an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics (Optimization), focusing on matrix completion problems using convex optimization techniques.

Broadly speaking, I am passionate about bridging theory and practice, developing mathematically grounded, efficient and reliable machine learning methods to solve real-world problems.
